A Caution For Charismatic Leaders

For kicks and giggles, let’s use this explanation from Wikipedia: “Charisma is a trait found in persons whose personalities are characterized by a personal charm and magnetism (attractiveness), along with innate and powerfully sophisticated abilities of interpersonal communication and persuasion. One who is charismatic is said to be capable of using their personal being, rather than just speech or logic alone, to interface with other human beings in a personal and direct manner, and effectively communicate an argument or concept to them.”

Charisma is dangerous.  Very dangerous.

Charisma is powerful.  Very powerful.

Charisma is attractive.  Very attractive.

How will we use our charisma?

  • We can use charisma to attract someone of the opposite sex that puts us in an off limits scenario.
  • We can use charisma to influence leaders.
  • We can use charisma to win people over to us only to use them to accomplish our tasks.
  • We can use charisma to manipulate people.
  • We can use charisma to change the world.
  • We can use charisma to get our way.
  • We can use charisma to make much of God.
  • We can use charisma to think that it’s all we need.
