Recognize these words: intelligent quotient :: emotional intelligence?
One of the items I am researching as part of this project is what Michael Maccoby calls strategic intelligence. This intelligence is different.
The five competencies in strategic intelligence include:
- Foresight: sense a coming wave so you can ride it; think in terms of unprovable forces that are shaping the future
- Systems thinking: conceptualize the whole rather than a collection of parts
- Visioning: your vision must grow and adapt
- Motivating: get people, a social system, to embrace a common purpose and implement your vision
- Partnering: make strategic alliances
