Most of you do not know that I worked for Pastor Johnny Hunt at First Baptist Church Woodstock, GA. That is where my admiration and respect started. Before, I knew nothing about him.
Many of you know him as a great preacher. He is that. But he is much more.
- He personally invests in individuals.
- He can hang with high level people and remain Pastor Johnny.
- He is passionate about expanding God’s kingdom.
- He deeply loves his family.
- He loves to build up men to love Jesus (his annual men’s conference now reaches about 7,ooo men)
- Uses his testimony like God intends.
- His commitment to personal holiness.
- His commitment to the spiritual disciplines.
- He is incredible when he speaks about leadership.
- His humble confidence.
- The way he opens his home for people to stay with him.
- His annual mentoring experience.
- He gives sacrificially.
- He loves to plant churches.
- His love for pastors (his annual Timothy Barnabas conference).
- I know I could call him on his cell phone at any moment.
- He is leading a great movement in the Southern Baptist denomination as the current President.
I have been with Pastor Johnny at the church. I have traveled with him on the bus as he goes around preaching at churches and events. Trust me, he is the real deal. Much can be learned from his life and practices.
