Helping Gen Y Find Direction

rodin__the_thinker2What should I do with my life?

This is the #1 question I hear from Gen Y.

The answer?

Well, I am sure a lot of people could chime in with an answer, so I will give it a try:

  1. Help them to get a clear picture of what they want their life to look like when it’s done.
  2. Help them to understand that to get to that picture, they will have to act in certain ways.
  3. Act this way from the very beginning.

This is the actual process Tom Watson, founder of IBM, used to become successful.

Watson remarked, “I realized that for IBM to become a great company it would have to act like a great company long before it ever became one.”

A tool, created by John Maxwell, will be posted tomorrow to help you help Gen Y.
