I have worked in several churches. In my opinion, there appears to be a common thread. I see people being hired that do not fit into the team culture. I often want to ask senior leaders, “Do you consider the entire team when you make a hire?”
I have even asked myself this question after being hired at a church. Did I really fit into the team culture? Not so sure.
If you are not adding a person to the team that will fit the culture…cut the conversations now. Save yourself and the potential hire.
This is also applicable to the recruitment and selection of volunteers.
Remember, the hires you make will impact others on the team. Do not forget about them!
