One Thing A Leader Should Do

As leaders, we are inundated with people telling us what they think we should do and not do, right?  Well, there is one thing every leader should do for their team.  Steve Jobs, Apple Founder, says the following about what he does for his team:

“The people who are doing the work are the moving force behind the Macintosh.  My job is to create a space for them, to clear out the rest of the organization and keep it at bay.”

I know Apple, Inc. is  a tad different than your workplace and mine.  However, I often wonder if we as leaders clear out enough space in our organizations and churches that give people room to create and implement with precision?  Do we keep some things at bay?  In other words do we exert the energy to protect them?
